8. Detailed Construction Sequence (Methodology) 8.1. Procedure 8.1.2 MATERIAL HANDLING
- Workplace must be free of obstructions, clean and ventilated.
- Protective clothing must comply with current safety regulations in force in the region. No specific hazards are associated with the installation other than general ones identified in the installation manual.
- All electrical work must be carried out by qualified personnel in line with regulations in force.
- Unit must be lifted by fork lift or suitably sized frame (unit weight approximately 830 kg).
- Unit must be kept horizontal during lifting and sudden movements must be avoided.
- The required clearances around the unit must be observed.
- All panels and structural steel members shall be of G-90 galvanized steel, treated and painted prior to Assembly to provide a chlorine and pool chemical resistant finish. The paint shall be plastic epoxy based powder coating, applied 0.003 inch (2-3 mils) thick, and baked and bonded at 420 degrees F until it forms a hard vinyl textured surface.
8.1.3 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
- Provide three feet clearance around sides and four feet around compressor compartment of unit for airflow and service. Provide a means for access to all sides of the unit.
- After unpacking the unit should be inspected and any damage reported.
- Install the unit on a flat/level floor suitable for the weight of the unit. It is recommended that rubber mats be used between the floor and the feet of the unit in order to minimize vibrations.
- Fit the condense drain line in line with the instruction from manufacturer and technical specification. Good practice should be used in the design of the drain line and a drain trap should be incorporated.
- Fit duct connections to the return and supply where appropriate.
- Supply duct sizes should be at least equal to the sizes of the outlets on the unit. Ducting installation is beyond the scope of the dehumidifier supplier.
- Make electrical connections respecting the wiring diagrams shipped with the unit. Ensure that the power supply is within the acceptable range set out in the instruction manual.
- Follow start up procedure as outline on the instruction manual.
- Check correct unit operation. See relevant sections of the instruction manual.
