Installation Method Statement Procedure for Car Park Boom & Barrier Arms

The Vehicle loop cables shall be laid on the drive lane for entry & exit locations, to detect vehicle presence at drive lanes. In addition, safety loops shall detect vehicle exit on the drive lane to command barrier to lower down its arm.

The Vehicle loop detectors’ cables shall be pulled up to barrier locations prior to the installation of the barrier enclosures. The Vehicle loop detectors’ enclosure modules shall be installed inside the barrier.

Activation (Presence) and safety vehicle loops should be prepared and installed as per the site requirements and as per manufacturer recommendations.

Correct foundations shall be prepared as per the recommendations of the manufacturer. The foundation size shall be of HxWxD: 600x600x600mm. The concrete to be a design mix in accordance with BS 5328 or as per project specification requirements.

All data cables, control cables, power supply cables need to be prepared, marked and tested correctly. The cables should be protected during barrier enclosure installation.

Barrier enclosure shall be fixed to the foundation by the means of anchor bolts delivered along with the equipment. Barrier arm shall be installed as per the entry requirement; it shall be 3 meter for car entrance and 4 meter (Maximum) for Truck entry.

Make sure that motor friction arm is correctly tightened with barrier boom arm. Correct setting shall be followed for opening and closure sequences as per the manufacturer requirement. Shall be tested on trial mode connected with vehicle loop detector module and trial shall be repeated to ensure smooth Boom operation, opening and closing performance as per manufacturer recommendation and safety loop interlock operations are satisfactory.
